And you will build real products using ultramodern technologies that you often teach yourself as you go, like you would in the workplace.Sumeet Jain, Lead Instructor

Pre-Work |
If you're admitted, we'll provide you with a detailed self-learning curriculum. You'll watch videos, read tutorials, and practice basic exercises. These are the kinds of resources anyone can find online for free, which give you a basic framework for the deeper education and experience we will be providing. |
Weeks 1-4 |
The first third of the course is a rigorous survey of web development. You'll learn the tools of the trade, practice good techniques, and build at least one real web application you can show off to your friends and family. You will also frequently learn from guest speakers and mentors, who will share insights about coding, design, and the industry in general. By the end of Week 4, you will have a solid foundation for web development and a growing appreciation for the non-technical parts of the business as well. |
Weeks 5-12 |
The rest of the course is a deep-dive into building production-caliber web applications. You'll focus on completing a more ambtious project in a group - as well as collaborate on real, live products that you can share with the world. |
Outcomes |
By graduation, you'll have an impressive portfolio of work on GitHub, solid experience you can show off on your résumé, technical interview experience, and you'll have made valuable connections in the community. We'll host a events like demo days, exclusive job fairs, and guide you through your job search. |
Gather in the common area over bagels and coffee before class begins.
We will start the day's project together, coding on the projector. Shout out questions and explore variations - it's highly interactive.
Hack individually or pair-program on projects. Get help from the instructors when you get stuck.
Sometimes we provide lunch and a guest speaker.
Just like in the morning, we will introduce new concepts and help you work through challenging projects that reinforce understanding.
The school stays open! No two evenings are alike. Whether it's a meetup, mock interviews, guest lecture, hackathon, or party - something interesting will be happening. Class officially ends at 5pm, but many students work into the night.
We can work on a case-by-case basis with students who would otherwise not be able to attend Omaha Code School.
We're committed to finding ways for anyone to attend our course.
All-day, every weekday.
